Vegan and Vegetarian Eats in Port Douglas

Vegan and Vegetarian Restaurants in Port Douglas

It’s fair to say that we’ve begun embracing the deliciousness that vegan and vegetarian food can bring – and what a time it is to be alive! We all know that this food doesn’t have to be boring, in fact, it’s usually the opposite. Chances are your meal of choice will be fresh, colourful, nutritious and undoubtedly mouth-watering no matter the restaurant you decide on. Doesn’t that sound dreamy?

With that being said, let’s take a look at the abundance of breakfast, lunch, and dinner selections available in Port Douglas – we can assure you that nobody will be missing out!

Lotus Leaf

This place delivers salad like you’ve never seen it before! There’s something so delightfully enjoyable about these healthy Asian salads that always leaves you coming back for more. It’s the perfect pick-me-up if you’re after an affordable and filling lunch to get you through the rest of the day. A popular favourite is the Bang Bang Bowl – a combination of soba noodles, plenty of crisp vegetables, coriander, ginger miso dressing with flavorsome tofu. There are endless options available that can easily be made vegan or vegetarian. Really, it’s hard to find salads better than those at Lotus Leaf!

Zinc

What’s not to love about a fine-dining restaurant that offers a separate fantastic vegetarian and vegan menu! This way there’s no limit to your choices – simply choose any meal you fancy. We all know how scrumptious Baked Cob Loafs are, and why not dip into the parmesan risotto while you’re there? Aside from the wonderful food, this venue is an absolutely gorgeous place to spend the evening and the staff are outstanding at what they do. It’s in your best interest to make Zinc a priority when in Port Douglas… yum, yum, and yum.

Watergate

Watergate offers yet another brilliant menu that’s dedicated to vegetarian bliss. You can expect treats such as a Coconut Risotto Cake, Wild Mushroom Risotto, and a Macadamia Crusted Eggplant stack – how amazing would those dishes be! Not to mention the beautiful tropical setting you’ll be surrounded in, we think that the best seats in the house are the outdoor tables. The only thing that could make a dining experience like this better is dessert; get your hands on the seasonal fruity sorbets or the decadent sticky date pudding, you definitely won’t regret it.

The Little Larder

Now let’s get to the most important meal of the day… breakfast. Although this place has newly relocated to a bigger and better venue, the food on the menu remains as great as it always has been! Try the sweet potato, zucchini, and split pea fritters or the Veggie Onesie to start the day off with a bang. Plus, a hot cup of coffee to accompany break will never go astray. The Little Larder is also open for lunch, serving dishes such as a hearty Sweet Potato Burger and a Harvest Bowl with fresh vegetables, avocado and beetroot relish. Delish.

Choo Choo’s

Ask any PD local their top three spots for breakfast or lunch, and there’s no doubt that Choo Choo’s will make the cut! With two marvelous locations at St. Crispin’s and the Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina, there’s no excuses not to check this place out when you’re in town. The St. Crispin’s venue is only moments down the road from Pool Resort! The lovely golf course and lake views are considered the icing on the cake. Here are some of the vege options – Homemade Banana Bread, Samoan Porridge, Smashed Avo, Garlic Mushrooms, and Homemade Arancini!

Phew! Now all of you vegetarian and vegan food lovers can take a breath and relax – there’s so many delicious options to choose from for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in Port Douglas. Happy eating!
