There are many fantastic markets to choose form while you are in Port Douglas. You can see what the local area has to offer, or venture out towards Cairns and the surrounding regions.

Sunday Markets

The Sunday Markets are centrally located in the heart of Port Douglas. Have breakfast and a coffee on Macrossan Street before heading over to browse the stalls in Market Park. There is a wide range of local produce, handcrafted goods and entertainment to discover in a beautiful location overlooking mountains, the Dickson Inlet and the Coral Sea.

ANZAC Park is only a short walk from the markets and is the perfect spot for a picnic – there is also a fun-filled playground to keep the kids busy! We suggest picking up some fresh produce from the market and enjoying a nice spread at the park – the ultimate relaxed Sunday activity.

The Sunday markets have been a longstanding local’s favourite and they are definitely worth checking out.

Wednesday Markets at the Marina

For your mid-week shopping fix visit the Wednesday Markets at the Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina on Wharf Street from 2pm until 7pm. This is a great chance to listen to live music and browse unique stalls during the day or at sunset. Afterwards, enjoy some food and drinks at the nearby Barbados or Hemingway’s Brewery and watch the world go by.

These markets will provide a great experience in a picturesque location while you are staying in the tropics. The Marina is only a short walk away from Macrossan Street. There is plenty of accessible parking available.

Saturday Markets in Mossman

The Mossman markets are full of friendly locals and their wonderful stalls. In this scenic country location, there is plenty of delicious treats, fresh produce and handcrafted items to choose from. These markets are located next to the St David’s Church and are entirely shaded by beautiful Raintrees.

If you are looking for a place for breakfast or lunch while you are in town, head to the local’s favourite at Junction Café which is just down the road from the markets. There are also some incredible swimming places for you to cool off, including the Mossman Gorge and Anich’s Bridge. Cairns Esplanade Markets

The Cairns Esplanade Markets are located right along the esplanade at the Cairns Lagoon. This is a fantastic location for all things shopping, swimming and eating. These Saturday markets are known for their outstanding artworks, jewellery and clothing.

After browsing the colourful stalls, you can grab a drink and a bite to eat along the esplanade or take a dip in the large man-made pool. If you are looking for a great day out for the whole family including markets, a swim and some food, this is the activity for you!

Palm Cove Markets

Take a scenic drive down the coast to the markets in tropical Palm Cove. Located just 40 minutes from Port Douglas, this seaside village is an extraordinary place to spend your day. These markets take place every month and feature handmade homewares, clothing and much more.

As well as browsing the beautiful beach side stalls, there will be plenty to do during your time in this town. Enjoy an abundance of restaurants and cafes, shopping, a stroll along the palm tree fringed beach or even fishing at the jetty. There are also BBQ facilities along the esplanade.
